Who's Don? Don McLean was born on 03/20/45 in Los Angeles. He ran track (badly) and cross country (much better) at Anaheim High School. He attended Fullerton Junior College and California State University, Fullerton, earning a B.A. and M.A. in English. He was in the Navy from 1966 to 1969, a clerk at the Pentagon. His work career has been handling all sorts of claims, primarily for insurance companies, but is now a claims consultant working from his home, mostly involved with asbestos claims for one client. His running career, never of much consequence, is in serious decline, though he looks forward to competition with other geezers.
